Run Your Race

At last year’s Kentucky Derby, the horse that crossed the finish line first was not victorious. Although Maximum Security finished first, the horse was disqualified because of an illegal lane change. In essence, instead of charging forward toward the goal, the jockey steered the horse sideways because he was concerned about other horses passing him.

Run YOUR race. The more you concern yourself with other people and their race, the more you drift sideways rather than charging forward. Don’t get slowed down or even disqualified from your race because you’re drifting into someone else’s lane.

Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith. ~Hebrews 12:1-2
