Men of Valor Conference 2014

Men of Valor Conference 2014

mmv-2014-logoTen years ago, while in my second year of seminary, the pastor of the church I attended in Dallas challenged several men to fly to King of Prussia, PA to attend the Mighty Men of Valor Conference. I had heard of the conference before because of the connections my pastor had with its leader, Cliff Ashe. This was my first time attending and I was amazed by the thousands of men who were present, the high-caliber speakers, the “manly” worship (yes, it exists), and the camaraderie of the brothers. It was a new and exciting experience for me.

Since then, I’ve attended the conference every year possible, excited just to be in the number. This year is different. A few weeks ago I received a message from Pastor Ashe that he would like for me to present two workshops at the conference. Again, since my first year attending, I’ve been amazed at the high-level of presenters who teach the main sessions and the breakouts. To be considered to stand alongside such great men of God is a humbling and amazing opportunity.

If you’re in the DC area this weekend, I encourage you to register and attend this great conference. Keynote speakers include ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith, Pastor Jeffrey Johnson and others. If you’re dying to learn more about effectively engaging young men of color, make sure you stop by my Saving Our Sons breakout.
